Discuss exchange rates here.

Trends, cheap countries to travel too, where the best place to exchange currency is, anything along those lines :)

Personally i would say from experience, when travelling to Asia, just exchange your money at a small street stall, as you can bargain with the rates that way.

NEVER change money at an airport unless you absolutely have to.

I was once told that it is never wise to flash money around when in a third world country. The local theives keenly watch how much money you have and determine if its worth stealing from you or not.

Pants or shorts with a bunch of pockets can help a little. I like to wear shorts with 4 pockets and spread the money out a little. You would want to reach into the pocket that contains only $20 to buy a beer, not the one with $100's!

I learned this one after pulling out $60,000 in JD to pay for a beer at a roadside stand, a wad that big draws a little attention since it's more than most of them make in 3 months. Walking around with my photo gear paints a large enough target on me:rolleyes:

The Australian dollar has climber from a low of about 60c per USD up to 81c last night, over the past few months. Good for importers, not good for exporters. I think it is a combination of the AUD rising and the USD falling.

Whether its good or not for travellers depends on where they plan on going...

Little Aussie battler is still around the 80c mark against the US Dollar, which menas its now a bit of a better exchange rate for those looking at travelling overseas. For a moment there i thought we would have to travel within Aus....

Yeah i need to convert some aud to usd soon. I'm not looking forward to doing it via normal retail methods (spreads are absolutely ridiculous). I wonder if any I'm able to take delivery of spot contracts through forex brokers. anyone know if this is possible?
