I would have to add the Ningaloo Reef - Marlin, Wahoo, Dolphin Fish, Tuna, Mackerel, Emperors, Cod and the list goes on

Would love to travel to Ningaloo Reef.. particularly for snorkelling with the Whale Sharks and Manta Rays. But great suggestion also for fishing, thanks Aaron :)

I grew up fishing for Murray Cod, relaxing to fish for and fun to catch. Northern NSW out of sentimentality. Always have preferred freshwater but those places sound awesome too.

I would have to add Fraser Island - beach fishing.
You can have your drink, get a tan, have a swim, breath in the sea breezes and fish!
Abundant with fish all year round.
Can get to Fraser by 4wd - travel by barge from Inskip Point or Hervey Bay and camp at one of the many designated camp areas or just along the beach.

Another great fishing spot is Cape Keraudren, WA - You can get there off the highway, via dirt road, best if you have a boat, can camp cheap here too!
