THE last time Ayesha Akhter tried to cast her vote in a Bangladesh election, she was turned away like many other victims of bureaucratic bungling or poll fraud.
Today the 35-year-old sales representative was among millions of Bangladeshis who cast their ballots throughout the country.
"It's a great feeling being able to exercise my democratic right in this festive and peaceful atmosphere," said Ms Akhter, recalling the unrest that forced the scheduled vote two years ago to be cancelled.
