Hey everyone! I am planning on Traveling to Posadas, Misiones, Argentina to visit a friend of mine. I want to go when it is summer there or spring. I am thinking about going next January. I have never really traveled outside the united states, except for when i went on a cruise to Mexico with my family a few years back. I am 21 years old. Is there any important information i should know about traveling internationally? any tips/pointers??

If you are going to see a friend then that is probably a good way of introducing international travel. Locals always tend to know the best spots etc. Let us know if you have any other questions :)

A flight is a flight, some are just longer than others ;)
The major difference between international and domestic is passing through customs. Usually its just a formal procedure, show your passport, say a few pleasantries then be on your way...

it's always best to buy your ticket as far in advance as you can as it's the best way of taking advantage of early payment discounts. But it's always good to keep an eye on specials. sometimes specials will come out for a couple of days only so if you find something cheep, buy it straight away. There's no point in waiting for something else to come up cheeper cos you'll wait for too long and you might end up paying a fortune.
international flights can be painful so prepare yourself properly. some cheep airlines won't give you blankets or pillows so make sure you take your own. Food, alcohol and TV entertainment is usualy provided but take a book or a mag for something different.
Try not to get too friendly to people beside you because even if you would like some company, they might not, so be considerate. That goes for your chair as well, there's no harm in asking the person behind you if your chair is too far back. Even if they're too polite to say it is, you'll still make them feel better about it.
one last thing, remember that if you have any special meal requests, let your travel agent or the airline know before hand.
i hope this helps, just ask if you have any other questions.

Enjoy Argentina!
Go with a healthy appetite for meat!
I've only been to BA, Mendoza and Iguazu Falls, but in my opinion are all must sees.
While in BA catch the ferry over to Colonia in Uruguay which is one of the prettiest colonial towns in the continent.
And, learn some Spanish!!!!

hey,
Have you bought a ticket yet and decided when you're going? it would be interesting to know what you're up to over there, even if you let us know when you get back.
Cheers
