If you could live anywhere in the World where would it be? And why?

I'd like to have 5 homes:

1. Melbourne City apartment to be close to family and friends and the MCG.
2. Mornington Peninsula for golf, fish and chips on the beach, and to be close to family and friends.
3. A yacht, floating anywhere, to be close to fish.
4. A cottage in the hills somewhere in the Yarra Valley with some views, to be close to wine.
5. A beach shack in the Caribbean with white powdery sand, palm trees, a beach bar, and walk out to world class diving, for no particular reason...

That sounds damn fine to me, as long as there was some form of Internet connection. I would also need a country estate in Europe and an apartment in New York to get my dose of city living

I like the idea of a yacht anywhere floating around - sounds like bliss...until the money runs out I suppose! think i'd like a beach hut on the beach in Asia somewhere and just chill!

First a place in Switzerland, in the hills, with tons of land
Then the Amafi Coast in Italy, would keep a boat there.
A place in Palau where I would keep a seaplane.
A place in the highlands of China where I could practice my samurai sword fighting skills ;)

At each of these places there would be girls and champagne waiting for me.

Below are pictures of each place.

Love to live somewhere in Philippines.

Reason:
1. cheap...can retire in my 30s and its possible, or work til 65yo.
2. warm climate
3. plenty to see and do
4. english speaking
5. reasonable access to australia if required
6. my philippine wife and 2 aust born sons would love it

more specifically i'd like to live in cabanatuan city, its a nice compromise between the fast hectic pace of manila and the slow boring pace in some rural areas.

A nice secluded place in the Philippines is good, away from all the hassles and very peaceful aside from the fact that secluded places in Philippines are paradise in nature... I would love to back there and live there forever.

Well if that will happen then I will choose Las Vegas. Because the city is full of entertainment, wine, and all pleasures of life.

kennas, i really like the idea of a simple beach shack. frying up fresh seafood in the sun, drinking pina coladas until you get sick of them, constant bronze skin....

BUT i would like to have one in QLD, maybe the sunshine coast or even north QLD. mainly to be near family but also because i'm a true QLDer and will be truely happy no where else!

Looks like I will be able to experience living near a Caribbean white fluffy beach with palm trees and a beach bar, but probably not the shack right on the beach.

Looks like I'll be moving to Playa del Carmen next year and running a travel company operating tours through Central America starting 2011.

Maybe if one of my stupid CSG companies ever goes up, I'll be able to afford one.

I've been thinking about this a bit more...and saw a travel programme of Bali last night and that could be my spot - away from the crowds, in the lush green mountains - beats living in the city anyway!

I think I'd like to live everywhere, I mean I would travel, travel and travel around the world until I become an old-old lady and decide to live somewhere in Saint-Tropez or anywhre else near the beach in a big glass house :)

I'd like to live all around the world, moving to a different city or country every few years. I don't really know where I'd like to eventually stop and settle down though, there's too much of the world I havent discovered yet! But somewhere with a small community perhaps, near the beach but also surrounded by lush rain forest. I have family in coolengatta in QLD and I like it their a fair bit so far, so maybe there. I dunno, its too hard to decide.
