Both the Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton hotels in Jakarta (Indonesia) were targets of a bomb attack this morning.
The bombs went off about 5 minutes apart, with the one in the Marriott reportedly being inside the restaurant where the guests would have been eating breakfast.
So far Indonesian officials say 9 dead and >50 injured, but as it only happened a couple hours ago this could change.

news.com.au is reporting that foreigners may be among the dead, though that is to be expected, as it is a hotel. An Australian man has also been injured.
There is a hotline set up for Australians who may have relatives in the area (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) - 1300 555 135

Pretty crapo really.
Intelligence agencies have been doing a good job keeping JI under pressure and preventing a lot of stuff from happening up till now. They'll be questioned as to how this slipped through. There's been A LOT of money thrown at ASIS and counter terrorism since Bali. I suppose they can't capture everything. The PM will be asking WTF? and many an analyst on the Indonesia desks will be working hard on this one.
