The other islands in Hawaii are cool. I'm not so keen on Waikiki. Last time I was there was almost 20 years ago. Back then, I found Waikiki to be more busy than Surfers is today. I remember walking down to the beach and not being able to find a place to sit down for all the Japanese tourists. Ended up spending the rest of my 18 hour layover at the yacht club. Though the airport had good facilities back then.... Definitely enjoyed being able to take a shower at the start of the 18 hour layover....
