Hi all,

I'm thinking about heading over to the UK early next year. I'm after some advice on working in UK pubs and other travel jobs; also if anyone has used the travel companies in Australia who help line up work for you before you leave, what are they like, are they genuine companies etc.

Look forward to your reply. Thanks!

Hey,

I have been using OWH and subsequently 1st choice, They have been really good so far. And always seem to be able to answer any questions I have about travel.
But as i am yet to leave Aus, I'm not sure how they will go recruiting me in London. But will let you know!

I always check .gov sites for legit help. ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/

Good luck!

I wouldnt worry to much about getting a job before you go as long as you are prepared to take any reasonable job - the job market is a bit tough in the UK right now but as long as you stick to bar work and that kind of thing you'll be fine (with a visa)

Is there any specific web site that is better to visit if you are looking for a specific type of job? im a draftsman and ideally id like to spend some time working in the UK and using that as a base to travel through Europe. It would be nice if I could get the same job over there, at least then id know what I was doing! hehe

Very early days atm, but thats the plan!
