I plan on travelling through the Czech Republic (amongst other places) in May. I'll let you know when I get back.

Prague is very pretty. Lots to do and caters very well to tourists.

The only real problems are the huge numbers of british tourists, especially on the weekends, and the high prices near the centre of the city.

If you have an extra couple of days then i'd suggest you head outside of prague to visit Cesky Krumlov. Beautiful little town with river running through it that you can canoe down and stop of at river bars.

As a day trip from Prague, I recommend visiting the Sedlec Ossuary in Kutna Hora. It's not much to look at from the outside, but it's the spectacular decorations inside that give it the alternative name of the "Bone Church", that are worth seeing.
