Hello friends, I am planning a trip with my family. We have two daughters who love the rainforest, animals, riding quad runners, snorkeling. We would ideally like to rent a home there as we may be joined by another family. Have you been to Sydney? Please give me suggestions. Thank you!

It depends on how long you have and how far out of sydney you want to go. I've only just moved here so probably not the best person to comment but i've found that sydney transport is extremely easy to use. if you dont have a lot of time and want to stay in the city then you shouldn't find it hard to get to a lot of the attractions from there.

From the city you can easily catch a train to bondi beach, catch a bus to the famous toronga zoo and you'll have all of the well known attractions such as the harbour bridge right where you're staying.

If you want to get out of the city, newcastle is said to have some of the best beaches in Oz as well as having a lovely nature experience with the blackbut reserve.

My next holiday is going to be the blue mountains, it look amazing and there is a lot of bushwalking etc. just be carefull and stick to the tracks!

I hope this helps but hopefully someone who's lived here a lot longer will be able to give you more of an insight!! i hope you have a great trip!

Cheers.

Mods... Should this thread be deleted as it appears to have been created solely for the purpose of link building ( the dude who started it is "banned" for some reason).

Aye, thanks for the heads-up inenigma. I know (being the Admin) prawn can reverse my decision but I decided against deleting the ENTIRE thread. chrissy wrote a relatively long reply to royal's question - even if it was only for the sole purpose of link building; her post may be helpful for other visitors who are legitimately looking for great parts of Sydney to travel with their families.

Of course I would always recommend that if you're not a huge fan of congested roads, unreliable public transport, high crime rates and expensive properties to skip Sydney and come to Adelaide. :)

Oh, and I deleted the links royal displayed in his signature so his advertised business won't benefit. Phew. Now I need a drink. Where's the beer thread when you need it.

Yeh reason i left the thread is that it will still be helpful for those who intend to visit Sydney.

Once i have been here for a while i'll update it with my thoughts also :)

As an outsider (orginally from the UK), I find all Auzzie cities pretty family friendly. For a captial city Sydney is fairly easy to get around and has lots to keep the whole family entertained. In the summer my bet would be to hang out in the gardens, get out on a boat and hit the beach - can't get more family friendly than a calm beach!

There is lot to experience lush nature! Do anyone have any idea about camping in Sydney?Camping seems like a very green way to spend your holidays, and it can be,if it’s done right.

There are some parts of Sydney to camp in: national parks eg Lane Cove and Royal National park. Probably a bit cold this time of year though! I'd be heading into QLD for some warmer weather.

For the family, you have to stay near the city, becaus the kids would love the aquarium, tarongo zoo or the wildlife park. or the IMAX theatre, or go to centennial park and ride a bike!

Sydney seaplanes would be the number 1 choice if I want to visit Sydney with my family, the kids would definitely love it.

My entire family is planning a vacation to Australia this spring. Our dad has wanted to travel there for his whole life. I just hope that it meets his expectations, and he has a good time. What are the name of the most respected outback tour guides? We wanted to surprise our father by booking him a tour of the outback with a quality tour guide.
