The profile picture and the avatar need to be uploaded seperately.
Go to your User CP --> Edit Avatar
You would have gone to 'Edit Profile Picture'.
Let me know if that doesnt work

I have updated the colour scheme to try and make it a bit more cheery. Feel free to make suggestions about it.
I have also changed the layout of the homepage slightly:
http://www.aussietravellersforum.com.au/
I did this in order to give it a more 'roomier' feel.
All feedback welcome

Just a note that today (22/11/08) a new skin will be implemented, if i can get it working, so if you notice things changing as you refresh between pages don't be worried :)

Images on the 'donate' page are now working again. A bug when the new skin was implemented disabled them

Logo has now been revised with the correct background.
Am toying with the posibility of including a whole banner as the logo.

A welcome message for guests (those not logged in or signed up) has been created, with a brief description of ATF and encouragement for them to sign up. It is visible as a guest from the homepage

After 2 weeks of being live ATFs Alexa rank has dropped (improved) from 8mill down to 1.9 mill.
Still a way to go but this means that as ATF has grown so has its presence on the web already.
Keep posting and discussing away and hopefully one day sooner rather than later ATF can become one of the premier travel forums and places for travel info :D

Alexa ranking now 800k, good to see continual improvement.
New logo implemented, let us know what you think.

As some of you may have noted, there has been some problems with spammers lately. I am trying to resolve the issue ASAP, please bare with me.
The posts generally dont last long, so i dont know what they think they acheive, but i have implemented a couple new anti-spam features so hopefully that sorts them out!

In order to prevent spam, users must now have a minimum of 2 posts in order to be able to create new threads and a minimum of 5 posts in order to be able to post and view links and attachments.
Please let me know if this causes any problems.

In order to try and encourage discussion I have tinkered a little with the forums design, adding a couple new sections.
Remember to let me know if you have any ideas as its your site too! :)

ATF is now six months old.
If you know anyone that might enjoy this forum be sure to let them know. The more members we have the more discussion it will generate.

We have now introduced a links section for sites we think may be useful to members.
It can be found under 'Links' in the footer if you scroll to the bottom of any page. Or here is the link:

It's a step up Prawn, nice one.
I'd like to see something stretch across the entire top of the screen at some point.
Maybe a collage of cliche photos....
The Rock, Sydney Harbour, The Reef, and the Essendon Football Club team photo.
:p

Thanks Kennas :)
Could some of the members please tell me where the logo 'ends' for you? IE - on my home computer it ends at the start of the advertising, but on my work computer there is white space present.
I need to know if i should make it longer or keep it as is...

For me it's half way across the page and the advert is on the last third of the page.
Hm, not sure if that is clear, but I think the title should be across the entire top of the screen.
Advert under it.

Thanks K.
The image that is there at the moment has been reduced in size, but when i get home i will put the full size one up. For some reason the full size one for me causes my home comp to have a scroll bar down the bottom, may have to adjust my resolution.

Yo Prawnster, I have free time of my hands these days (god bless being dumped ) so would you like me to make a NEW & IMPROVED banner for the forums?
Tell me what you want to see and i'll use my magic fingers to whip up something nice and spiffy.
If only my ex thought they were "magic". :(

Hi EN,
Thanks for the offer, however we actually have some advertising going using the current branding/banner so it would be best to keep it the same for the moment.
Will definitely keep your skills in mind when we look at changing it again.
Thanks
Prawn

We have now implemented a new Cruise Forum (http://www.aussietravellersforum.com.au/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17).
This was done, as much of the excitement and fun of cruises is onboard the ship itself, as opposed to just the countries visisted. So if you want to comment on a cruise feel free to get talking, but we ask that if you wish to comment about a specific country you still do so in its own thread :)

Just a quick reminder to ATF'ers that there is a 'Links (http://www.aussietravellersforum.com.au/forums/links.php)' section located in the footer (green bar at the bottom of each page). These links are what I think may be useful to some ATF members.
If you want your site added there feel free to contact me, or if you want to add ATF as a link on your own site it would be greatly appreciated!

In order to reduce spam we have now implemented a post limit for signatures. Users must have 8+ posts in order for signatures to be enabled.
If this is a problem, or you have this amount of posts and you sig is not working please contact me. :)

Please note that in the Australia forum i have made all the state threads sticky.
We are getting a lot of qquestions asking about individual trips, but if members take the time to read about each of the states it will help cut down on the clutter and probably answer a lot of questions that are being asked repeatedly.
Thanks :)
