I have to admit i have set this site up using Internet Explorer myself, so if anyone out there using a different browser would like to give me some feedback about it that would be much appreciated.

Is anyone out there having trouble logging in or accessing the site? Apparently there has been a probem with the database but im not sure if it affected anyone.

Sorry about the downtime everyone.

There were some unexpected errors which took a lot longer to clear up than we anticipated.

All should be back to normal now, let me know if it is not.

Well that's your first mistake, mate. Firefox is certainly a much better web browser. It really makes Internet Explorer look like complete crap in contrast. F.F. is much faster, more secure and customizable.

You deserve a gold medal setting up this place using I.I. :p

Without making a mountain out of a molehill there's a minor posting issue that's bugging me. Whenever you make a post and return to the forum menu you have to either re-click your recent posting or use the 'mark forums read' button because it says there is "1 new message" and obviously that 1 new message was the one you just posted a few seconds earlier.

Like I said, nothing major, but on most other forums when you redirect yourself back to the home page after making a post it automatically says NO NEW MSGS.

I'll have a look into this when i get some time and see what i can do :)

Just a friendly suggestion. Perhaps we could have a trial run of a backpackers forum in the new year. Just the other day a friend was telling me how hard it was to find useful infomation on the web concerning youth hostels, budget transportation and gap year advice. Young people travel too!

Hi EN,

Good idea :) At this stage i guess the closest we have is the 'Front Bar' general chat forum, or the 'New Travellers' forum

Make sure your friend signs up and starts threads with any questions/knowledge they have :)

Hey Prawnster, can I ask what time zone you're using from your computer? Residing from central Australia i'm using (GMT +9:30) Adelaide, Darwin but it seems the time at the bottom of the ATF home page is a few minutes slow. No big deal but it might cause some problems for you later on.

Are you having the same problem mate, or is it just me?

My time actually shows up different due to me being the vBulletin software owner.

How many minutes slow do you mean?

Or is it hours different? if so i'll have to look into it

Meh. It's only two and a half minutes slower than the actual time so I wouldn't worry about trying to tinker with the system too much dude. It's probably out of your control anyway, no big deal. I have another question however - why aren't we able to attach images to our bottom signatures?

I wanted to add an animated usersig but there are no IMG tags. It's quite small and won't take up a lot of space. What'll you say mate? Please! :D

I'd love to see a forum dedicated to luxury travel

Hi LT,

I dont think that an entire forum is warranted for luxury travel just yet, however as ATF grows who knows what we will need. However feel free to start a dedicated luxury travel thread if you so wish :)

Huzza! The time problem has been fixed. Thanks for solving the issue Prawn.

So, are we any closer to starting up a backpacking sub-forum? The cruise forum has been moderately successful and surely people love hiking, camping and drifting from country-to-country, state-to-state, region-to-region with only a bag on their back just as much as they do crusing on the open seas.

Hopefully it'll attract a lot of adventure seekers to these forums. Fingers crossed, anyway.
