I'm going over to Europe in 3 weeks time and I'm just wondering can I simply take Panadol onto the plane or do I need a doctors certificate for that? I've also got a mate who will be taking anti-snore spray, will he also need a doctors certificate for that? The plane also stops off at Kuala Lumpur and Amsterdam on the way.
Thanks.

Hi Force,
Welcome to ATF :)
As far as i am aware, non-prescription drugs are fine to carry with you. Worst case secenario is you say you didnt know (but what is and isn't illegal will be set out on the immigration papers you have to fill out). I would take a copy of your script with you if you or your friend is taking prescription drugs, just to be on the safe side.
Hope that helps

They're not prescription drugs. My friend is certain we have to get doctors certificates though. Even for Panadol which seems really silly. Also, we have to fill out immigration papers there? We're not moving there, just going on a trip.

You won't need anything for regular Panadol. I've taken similar meds to half the countries on earth and never even been questioned about it. No idea whats in the anti-snore stuff but it should be ok as long as its not pharmacy only or prescription.

Based on my experience you don't need a doctor's certificate with you. But have heard talks from friends that if you bring with you a lot of panadol boxes, you get questioned by immigration people.
