Hi guys

I am new here - hope this is in the right spot!

We are heading to South America for a year long break - starting in Chile. We want to spend a month learning spanish to bring our language skills up to scratch - just can't decide whether to do it in Santiago or in Patagonia. We have found a school that seems nice (good reviews) in Coyhaique - and there are hundreds in Santiago.

Generally speaking we aren't big city kind of people - more outdoorsy kind of people. Anyone got any experience with learning spanish in Chile? Any advice would be appreciated.

ShanI've studied Spanish in Quito, Lima, Cuzco and Santiago. Best is in Quito for mine. Cheapest and the nicest capital in SA. But if it's just Chile you're going to Santiago will be fine. Or, look into Pukon in the Lakes District. Amazing little town.
