I'm headed to Denver in a couple of weeks for a conference and have a day or 2 free. Any suggestions of 'must see' things?

Well, a must see is definately going to Coors Field to watch the Colorado Rockies baseball team. Great afternoon out. Games are a little long, but short compared to a day at a test match.
Unfortunately didn't get out of the city really and the Rocky Mountains are oh so close.
Denver itself is a great town. Lots of cafes and restaurants. Lots of el fresco happening. Very organised and clean and people friendly. I rate it.
Colorado is on the list of places to get to know much better on any decent tour around the States.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science will not disappoint. Many of the exhibits are hands on, and there is sufficient variety to attract the interest of everyone. Certain Sundays and Mondays are free throughout the year, providing plenty of opportunities to experience this museum on a tight budget.
Colorado Railroad Museum, this indoor/outdoor museum in Golden contains a huge collection of full size train engines and cars, many of which are open to the public. Don't miss the miniature train display downstairs. The hardest part of visiting this museum is getting the kids away from the gift shop! The Colorado Railroad Museum has several free days each year, usually in the winter and fall.
