This thread s for ATF members to post any hints/tips/etc for fishing anywhere and everywhere around Aus. Also feel free to post your fishing trophy pics here too :D
I'll kick start it. Does anyone know of any easy to access places for a begginner recreational fisher in the Sydney area?

Well i went and did my first lot of fishing in NSW today. :)
Went to Tempe just up from the Cook River inlet and just tried for a few Bream. Was there for a couple hours and got 2 small ones (released them back) and plenty of other nibbles.
Was using a popper to start with but no real luck, so switched to some soft plastics and had success straight away. Using small wrigglers and a bit of 'bait paste' to get the smell right. Only roble i found was they were taking the tails off the plastics without actually hooking themselves, so will have to try get some smaller plastics this week :)

Sounds like a fun day out, was that from a boat or from the shore? I am no 'real' fisherman but enjoy going out in my partners dad's boat when he comes to stay or we go up there. There's something quite magical and relaxing about fishing when the suns setting or just coming up...
Where you off to next?

I'll be coming to Sydney in the winter... Do you guys think it would be possible for me to go fishing at that time of year? I haven't fished since I was a child, but I remember loving it before... :)
Cheers,
Jonathan
