So a few of the people on here (if not all), come from www.aussiestockforums.com, so i guess some of you will be able to help me with this idea

I would like to travel the world, take my laptop, and trade the markets. I would much prefer to be trading on some beach then sitting at home. Anyone tried this?

I guess it depends on what you mean by 'trading' ie - your timeframe.

Also depending on what you were trading (stocks, fx etc) you would need to take different timezones into account

It would be short term (5min charts). and most likely FX

I suppose I've been doing it for the past 18 or so months.

I hate being away from a base and my second monitor. Trying to juggle day trading on a 15.4 screen is a pain in the @rse.

But otherwise, just 'investing' in stocks has been no drama, except for the time frame. I am only rarely up to watch the close, which to me is really important.

It can be stressful if you are in a lot of specs which I have been the past few years. Hate to think that a bad report is going to come out, and I've missed numerous opportunities to take profits on some crazy gains intraday.

Other problem in another timezone like SA is that during the week, you work at night. And Sunday night is a Monday morning. So, I never have time off at night during the week. Not good for the social life...

Otherwise, grab the notebook, buy an around the world ticket, and away you go! :)

Hi people, my first post here but been reading for a while -I am looking for sincere advice for how to get around the middle hands in trading, specifically in Delhi. I'd like to get straight to the source and pay directly to the people who do the actual work, my own private fair trade, if you know what I mean. I'm no hot shot of any kind here, I design a bit and get things made, soft textiles and accessories like cushions, scarves, bags, purses etc. and then sell in markets and festivals over the summer.Any good tips and ideas from you hardcore Indianites? I've been doing this off and on for some years but still feel like an India-amateur Any ideas welcome, also about specific manufacturers, markets, areas etc. mainly in Delhi..

The comments here on trading relate more to trading the share (stock) market, currency (fx) etc than to the trading of physical goods. Quite a few of us on this forum are also members of Aussie Stock Forums, a site focused on investment and the share market, hence we take "trading" to mean shares etc. Hopefully someone can help you though. :):)

I traded FX for a while whist travelling - but found the change in time zones difficult to deal with. The idea of sitting on a beach whist trading doesn't always work! You end up staying up late into the night sometimes.

Mind you - it still beats sitting in an office!
