Plan on going to a country? Make sure you know some of the slang language first :D
I'll kick it off with some Aussie slang:
G'day = Hello
Howdy = Hello
'owz it goin' = Hello

I suppose that makes sense. Slang is actually much more difficult to learn than more formal language, because it usually makes much less sense. It often involves idioms and purposeful pronunciations. Maybe I can just pick it up while in Panama....:)

I never been there, but 'flat out like a lizard drinking' means busy? How did this one come about? Haha. It just seems out of place compared to the other slangs you provided, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Here's some others:
All dressed up like a pox doctor's clerk.
As miserable as a bastard on father's day.
Up you for the rent, sport. (get stuffed)
As clumsy as a duck in a ploughed paddock
A few kangaroos in the top paddock (a bit crazy)
Your blood's worth bottling (appreciative comment)
I wouldn't know him if he fell out of a packet of Corn Flakes (I don't recognize him)
Know him? I'd know his skin if it was hanging on a bush. (I do recognize him)
As dry as a Kookaburra's khyber in the Simpson desert. (It's dry)
As dry as a dead dingo's donger. (even dryer)
Rare as rocking horse sh!t (not very plentiful)
Couldn't drive a greasy stick up a dog's @rse (a poor driver)
Wouldn't know if his arse was on fire (dumb person)
Yhat's just a few staright off the top of my head. There are thousands of these in Australia, you could fill a book with them. LOL

When you are busy you are "flat out" ( i dunno why), and when a lizard drinks it lies flat to do so out of the puddle etc, so therefore you are flat out like a lizard drinking
