Default Switzerland

Switzerland, officially the Swiss Confederation, is a landlocked alpine country of roughly 7.6 million people in Western Europe with an area of 41,285 km². Switzerland is a federal republic consisting of 26 states called cantons. Berne is the seat of the federal authorities, while the country's economic centres are its three global cities, Geneva, Basel and especially Zürich. Switzerland is one of the richest countries in the world by per capita gross domestic product. Zürich and Geneva have respectively been ranked as having the first and second highest quality of life in the world.

We have good family friends whose family are dairy farmers in Switzerland.

Last time we were there it was coming into the colder months so we walked up a mountain to the cottage and spent the night there and then herded the cows down the next day so they could be in the lower pastures for the winter.

Lots of postcards perfect places. I especially like Geneva

I'm planning a trip to Switzerland and I was wondering what towns/cities have the most beautiful, mountainous views. I want to be blown away by my natural surroundings. Thanks!

I dont think there is a town in Switzerland without a view of a mountain!

Seriously though, Bern is where i have spent most of my time there, and if you get out to the small towns surrounding it you can get a dose of Swiss 'country' culture.

Also as i said above Geneva is absolutely postcard perfect if you ask me, so try to get there

Hey mate, Switzerland is a fantastic place to visit I think you're going to love it.

I found the nicest city to be Basel, I you go in the summer you can swim in the purest stretch of the Rhine which is so nice. Zurich is also great, the nightlife is awesome and I particularly recommend 'Hive' Club. I think the best thing to do is to hire a car, as it is a small country and you can cover a lot of ground quickly and the roads are incredibly scenic. If you do this Rhônegletscher is a glacier you can visit. south of Zurich. Bern is also a pretty town.

The best views are at Interlaken where on a clear day you get great views of Jungfrau

Enjoy

The Snow - The Swiss Alps border France, Italy and Austria and are home to some of the best skiing facilities in the world. This means that these areas are very popular among skiers and snowboarders. As more people have begun to take up the sports the more affluent have invested in both French ski property and Swiss chalets. These sorts of alpine property are typically found in and around the ski resorts and are typically only used during the ski season.
